Oct 26, 2023Jets' Thomas: Locker room is 'buzzing' with Rodgers' arrival
Aaron Rodgers is already having a big impact on his new teammates.
New York Jets defensive tackle Solomon Thomas told reporters earlier this week that there's been a noticeable change in the atmosphere at the team's headquarters since Rodgers arrived.
"The room is buzzing right now - the building is buzzing - and it's buzzing for a reason," Thomas said, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. "You bring in a solidified Hall of Famer like Aaron Rodgers and it's going to change some things. His leadership, his knowledge, the way he plays the game - you know he's going to put up points and you know he's going to play smart football. It brings a whole new youthfulness around this team, even for the vets."
Veteran linebacker C.J. Mosley has felt the shift too.
"It's a different vibe," Mosley said, per Brian Costello of the New York Post. "He sets the bar. He sets the expectations with his resume, with his name, and the way he approaches the game every single day."
The Jets acquired Rodgers in an April trade with the Green Bay Packers. He's coming off a season in which he completed 64.6% of his passes for 3,695 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while leading Green Bay to an 8-9 record.
